Common East Syracuse AC Problems and Solutions

June 13, 2016

We’ve discussed several of the most common air conditioning problems East Syracuse faces, but now we’re back with some typical AC issues that you can help troubleshoot.

The air conditioning system is on but not blowing cool air.

If your air conditioner is running but not truly cooling, you could need to have your refrigerant levels inspected. Refrigerant is required to make sure the air coming out of your A/C is really cool and keeps you comfortable. Low refrigerant is commonly an indicator of a leak or that the system wasn’t charged correctly.

A simple way to see if you are low on refrigerant is to go to your A/C system and locate the two copper pipes. If the larger of the two is “sweating” or covered in condensation, put your hand on the pipe and feel if it’s cold. If it’s cold to the touch, you are probably good to go and won’t need extra refrigerant.

If you’re not positive or the pipe is not covered in condensation and is not cold to the touch, call Falso Service Experts and we’ll stop by and check your refrigerant levels and discover why your A/C system is not blowing cool air. Remember, only an EPA Certified technician should handle refrigerant for central A/C systems, due to the risks of handling this potentially dangerous chemical.

You air condenser fan isn’t circulating.

There are several reasons your condenser fan isn’t rotating. One could be that it simply burned out and you require a replacement. Humidity tends to cause more condensation so another problem to look out for is that the water is not draining correctly or that the drain is blocked. If you can verify these things, you may be able to discover the problem; but, if not, give Falso Service Experts a call and we can look into what is keeping your condenser fan from circulating and review your options to get your air conditioner problem fixed.

Your A/C is not providing ample air cooling.

It sounds crazy, but try dropping the temperature on your thermostat. It seems funny but sometimes it’s easy to miss the obvious. If lowering the thermostat doesn’t get your AC cooling, check and swap out the air filter. If the air filter is blocked, it could cause major cooling problems. Another problem that could cause your lack of cooling is an A/C system that is not sized properly, and unfortunately this is an all-too-common issue when homes are constructed. Falso Service Experts is happy to come out and do an analysis to confirm whether or not the size of your system is causing your issues.

Air Conditioner shuts on and off constantly

If your AC is short cycling, or turning on or off consistently, it could mean one of many things. One thing is that your condenser or evaporator is obstructed or dirty and needs to be cleaned. Once the equipment is cleaned and all blockages moved away, you may be back to a normal running air conditioner. Keep in mind that humidity also plays a role so if the house cools to the desired temperatures, but then the humidity causes your home to heat up quickly, this could cause an on-again, off-again air conditioner because it’s having to work overtime to keep your family cool and comfortable.

No matter your issue, whatever common or uncommon air conditioning issue you run into, Falso Service Experts is here for you around the clock. We are available to you so we can get your A/C cooling and get your home comfortable lickety-split.
