We previously told you about several of the most common air conditioning problems East Syracuse faces, but now we’re back with some common AC issues that you can help troubleshoot.
The air conditioning system is on but not blowing cool air.
If your air conditioner is running but not truly cooling, you could need to have your refrigerant levels checked. Refrigerant is required to make sure the air blowing from the A/C is actually cool and keeps you comfortable. Low refrigerant is often an indicator of a leak or that the system wasn’t charged correctly.
A simple way to see if you are low on refrigerant is to go to your A/C system and locate the two copper pipes. If the large one is “sweating” or covered in condensation, put your hand on the pipe and feel if it’s cold. If it’s cold to the touch, you are most likely good to go and won’t need extra refrigerant.
If you’re not positive or the pipe is not covered in condensation and is not cold to the touch, call Falso Service Experts and we’ll stop by and check your refrigerant levels and discover why your A/C system is not blowing cool air. Note: only an EPA Certified technician should handle refrigerant for central air conditioning systems, due to the risks of handling this potentially dangerous chemical.
You air condenser fan isn’t spinning.
There are many reasons your condenser fan might not be turning. One is that it simply burned out and you need a replacement. Humidity typically causes more condensation so another problem to look out for is that the water is not draining correctly or that the drain is blocked. If you can verify these things, you may be able to discover the problem; but, if not, give Falso Service Experts a call and we can look into what is keeping your condenser fan from circulating and walk you through your options to get your air conditioner problem fixed.
Your air conditioner is not providing ample air cooling.
First thing’s first: try dropping the temperature on your thermostat. It seems funny but sometimes our busy lives cause us to ignore the obvious. If that doesn’t get your AC cooling, check and replace the air filter. If the air filter is blocked, it could cause significant cooling issues. Another thing that could cause your lack of cooling is an AC that is not sized correctly, and unfortunately this is a very common issue when homes are constructed. Falso Service Experts is happy to come out and do an analysis to determine if the size of your system is causing your troubles.
AC shuts on and off over and over
If your air conditioner is short cycling, or turning on or off consistently, it could mean one of many things. One possibility is that your condenser or evaporator is obstructed or dirty and in need of cleaning. Once the equipment is cleaned and all clogs moved away, you may be back to a normal running AC. Keep in mind that humidity also plays a role so if the house cools to the desired temperatures, but then the humidity causes your house to heat up quickly, this could cause an on-again, off-again air conditioner because it’s having to work harder to keep your family cool and comfortable.
No matter your problem, whatever common or uncommon AC issue you run into, Falso Service Experts is here for you around the clock. We are available to you so we can get your A/C cooling and get your comfortable lickety-split.
