On July 7th, 2016, a peaceful Black Lives Matter-organized protest was concluding when shots resonated in Dallas. Panic ensued and by night’s end, nine Dallas officers were wounded and five lost their lives.
Within a week, Dallas business owners and community leaders joined forces to fundraise for the police officers and their relatives. Dos Jefes, a local bistro, hosted “Dine for Dallas Blue” and all of the money raised from the dinner and silent auction they hosted were given to the fallen and injured officers and their relatives.
General Manager Tony Polendo of Calvlery Service Experts was more than honored to get involved.
“I was at my birthday dinner less than a mile away from the events of that horrible evening,” Polendo remembered. “That night struck home with me. As a military veteran, I have complete and total respect for anyone who wears a uniform in an endeavor to protect and serve our community.”
“When my colleague contacted me to inquire if we would support this charitable event by merely attending, I wanted to go beyond and not only attend, but contribute our time and effort as well.”
Tony and the Calverley Service Experts team partnered with Lennox to auction off a new heating and cooling system with installation included at the Dine for Dallas Blue event. Check out the pictures below of the installation.
“I am both honored and appreciative for the opportunity to have participated in such a wonderful event,” Polendo said.
From your family at Falso Service Experts, we are truly sorry for the loss of the Dallas police officer community and for the relatives of Lorne Ahrens, Michael Krol, Michael J. Smith, Brent Thompson, and Patrick Zamarripa.
